Swinging High
Swinging High is a 1-page lesson pack for Grade 3. This worksheet has a text to read with rhyming words. In poetry format. A child plays on a swing but imagines being thrown from the swing into a tree with Zac, a friend. The children “climb about” and watch the people below move “in and out”. When the swing stops, the child is so giddy that they settle for riding their bike instead.
Review questions follow. These encourage the student to interpret, form an opinion and discuss. A line drawing on A4 is for colouring in. The drawing could also help students to understand the poem better.
Easy to teach using this lesson-ready worksheet set. Lots to talk about and enjoy.
